September 2014 Welcome

Hi to all of Jack Mackenzie School community.  I am Kyle DuMont and I am the new addition to the grade 7/8 pod this year. I am very excited to be working with everyone in and around the school.  In my role this year I am taking over Mr. Sthamann's role as the science guy within the pod, as well as grade 8 math.  I am thrilled to be able to utilize blogging as a main avenue of communication this year.  Please feel free to check on this daily/weekly to see what  your children are up to in my classes.
Here is a little bit about me.   I have been a teacher in Regina Public Schools for 5 years, all of which were at the Grade 7/8 level at Thomson Community School.  I went to the U of R and convocated from the SUNTEP program.  While at the U of R I also wrestled for 4 years.  I have a love of all sports but my favorite are football, wrestling, golfing and hockey (although I've never played).  I am recently married and my wife and I have a a small family of us and our dog Whiskey.

My wife is also a teacher in Regina Public. We are big Rider fans.  I am looking forward to meeting all of you and having a fun filled exciting year ahead of us.  Please feel free to send me an email, call the school, or stop by before or after school for a visit.

1- Please remember your clothes for Phys. Ed.
2- We are asking you to bring in some magazines that you are comfortable to cut up and use for a couple of different projects.
